CPD Hero runs CPD retreats and online sessions for anaesthetists. This page explains what personal information we collect through cpdhero.com, what we do with it, and how to contact us about it.

Who we are

CPD Hero (registered business name CPDHero) is run by WakeUpWell Pty Ltd, ABN 52 155 418 312, Warrnambool VIC 3280, Australia. You can reach us at hello@cpdhero.com.

We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and, for people in New Zealand, the Information Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 2020.

What we collect and why

  • When you sign up on our website: your name, email address and your answers on the form. We use them to send you what you asked for, such as the programme outline, and emails about our retreats and sessions.
  • When you contact us or apply to teach with us, by email, on WhatsApp or through the website: your name, contact details and what you tell us, so we can reply.
  • When you book: bookings and payments are handled by WeTravel on its own pages, and WeTravel's privacy policy applies there: https://www.wetravel.com/privacy. We receive your booking details, but not your full card details.
  • When you visit our website: technical information such as your device, browser, approximate location and the pages you visit. See "Cookies and advertising" below.

If you don't give us the information we ask for, we may not be able to send you what you requested.

Emails from us

We send marketing emails only to people who have signed up for them or who have booked with us. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and we act on unsubscribe requests within five working days.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that run parts of our business for us: ActiveCampaign (email), WeTravel (bookings and payments), Squarespace (website), Google (email, analytics and advertising) and WhatsApp. We also share it where the law requires or allows it.

Most of these providers are based in, or store data in, the United States, and some may store it in other countries. They may not be bound by privacy laws like Australia's or New Zealand's. By giving us your information, you authorise us to share it with them for the purposes on this page.

Cookies and advertising

  • Squarespace, our website host, sets the cookies the site needs to work and records basic visitor statistics.
  • Google Analytics shows us how visitors find and use the site.
  • ActiveCampaign records which of our emails you open and click.
  • Google Ads measures which of our ads lead to sign-ups and bookings. We also use it to show our ads to people who have visited cpdhero.com. This works through third-party vendors, including Google, which show our ads on websites across the internet and use cookies or device identifiers to do so based on your past visits to our site.
  • Inspectlet records how visitors use the site, such as clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, so we can improve it. Form fields are masked and not recorded.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. To opt out of Google's use of cookies for personalised ads, visit Google's Ads Settings: https://adssettings.google.com. How we store and protect it

Your information is held in the services listed above and in our business email. Only the people who need it to run CPD Hero can access it, and we take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, loss and unauthorised access.

We keep your email address until you unsubscribe. After that, we keep it only on a "do not email" list, so you don't hear from us again.

Seeing, correcting or deleting your information

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing hello@cpdhero.com. We'll respond within 20 working days, free of charge.

Complaints

If you think we've mishandled your personal information, email hello@cpdhero.com with "Privacy" in the subject line. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the regulator:
