Two ways to come

THE GOLD STANDARD

AU$8,800

per person · deposit AU$1,000
includes GST, credit card and platform fees

Your seat at the retreat. The full programme, the faculty, the meals and the evenings.

The room is not part of the price; you pay the Regent direct, at a special rate we negotiated for this group. When you register we introduce you to our contact at the Regent, who helps you with the booking. They hold it, and it is not on the resort's public site.

Plus the November Audit. Your 2026 mandatory practice-evaluation activity, cleared online in one Zoom call. Register by 23 November to be in it.

Clicking the button takes you to WeTravel, our booking platform, where the AU$1,000 deposit can be paid.

PLATINUM

From AU$24,900

per person · everything in the Gold Standard,
with your flights and your travel organised

You tell us where you are flying from and how you want to get there. Be it a stopover in Ho Chi Minh City, a particular airline, or business class. Our travel agent books it, and the fare is included in the price.

Door to door: a car from your home to your airport in Australia or New Zealand, and another waiting at Phu Quoc. Both ways. Included within 100 km of the airport; further out, we quote it.

Airport fast-track through immigration on arrival, included.

Everything else is identical: the same seat, the same programme, the same room arrangement at the Regent.

Why "from": the fare depends on where you are starting and how you want to fly, so the number moves with it. Tell Chris what you have in mind and he will come back with yours.

What the AU$8,800 covers

Included

  • 25 hours of CPD with six faculty, resident all week

  • Morning tea and lunch on each of the five teaching days, catered by the Regent

  • Private chauffeured airport transfers, arrival and departure

  • The welcome reception at the rooftop Fu Bar, ours for the night

  • The beach dinner on Long Beach, and farewell drinks

  • Certificate of attendance, a category-mapped CPD log, the verification forms and the programme document

  • The November 2026 Audit — a live clinical audit, online, clearing your 2026 mandatory practice-evaluation item

  • An itemised invoice

Not included

  • Accommodation — not in the price. Our contact at the Regent arranges it with you at our negotiated rate, and you pay the resort direct. See below.

  • Flights — yours to book, on the Gold Standard. Happy to suggest routings. On Platinum they are booked for you and the fare is in the price.

  • Airport fast-track through immigration on arrival — not on the Gold Standard; included on Platinum.

  • Travel insurance — required, including personal liability cover of AU$1,000,000 or more.

Your Room

You are not doing this on your own. The room is booked with the Regent rather than with us — but through our contact there, who applies the rate we negotiated for this group. Our rates hold across every category until each one sells out.

Which door is yours is decided by the room, not the budget

Both suite categories take two adults and one child under twelve, and neither takes a rollaway bed. That is a fire and licensing limit. So two parents with two children cannot book a suite at any price — the floor for a household of four is a villa, and every villa has its own pool.

  • Solo or a couple — a suite, from US$530* a night.

  • A household of four or more — a villa, from US$720* a night.

Rates are contracted in US dollars. * means plus 5% service charge and 10% VAT.

Children — under four in a cot, free · four to under twelve in existing bedding, US$25* · four to under twelve in a rollaway (villas only), US$75* · twelve and over, US$95*, and counted as an adult for the occupancy limit as well as the price. Worth checking against your own household before you pick a category.

Every room at our rate includes breakfast for up to two adults per bedroom · a refreshment gallery replenished daily · three pieces of laundry and three of pressing per bedroom per day · wifi · a welcome drink · the resort's daily activity programme · Regent Kids, 09:00 to 18:00, ages four to twelve, no charge. A partner in the same room often adds nothing to the rate.

The rate holds three days either side of the programme — a seventh night, or almost a fortnight.

How the room is paid. One night's charge secures it. The balance goes to the Regent 30 days before you arrive — 18 December 2026 for a Sunday 17 January arrival. Cancelling forfeits the one night; shortening your stay is free of further charge more than 30 days out.

Not sure which room?

Tell us your dates and who is coming, and we will ask our guest experience consultant at the Regent what is available and how much it is at our rate. You do not have to reserve your seat first.

How booking works

Two steps, two payees.

One — your seat. You register with us on WeTravel. AU$1,000 deposit today, then the balance on the schedule shown at checkout.

Two — your room. Arranged with the Regent, as above. When your registration lands, we introduce you by name to your guest experience consultant at the resort, who will assist you with the booking.

After you register, two more things arrive:

  • A short skills self-assessment — a 0–5 comfort rating per block category, seen by the faculty only, which is how the scanning groups get sorted.

  • An invitation to send one de-identified case from your own practice for the M&M session. The case is an invitation, not a condition.

Getting there

Phu Quoc International (PQC) connects via Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Singapore, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur. The airport is 17 km from the resort, a 15 to 20 minute drive, and your transfers on arrival and departure are both included.

Your routing changes your visa answer — read the note below before you book the flight, not after.

On the Gold Standard, flights are yours to book. On Platinum they are booked for you and the fare is in the price.

Questions people ask

If you cannot come.

A colleague may take your seat at no charge, and the CPD Hero ticket you have paid carries over to them. The AU$1,000 deposit is non-refundable.

Travel insurance.

Required, including personal liability cover of AU$1,000,000 or more. Worth arranging early.

Visas.

Verified 4 September 2026. Vietnam changes entry policy with little notice.
Australian and New Zealand passport holders
need a visa. Neither country is on Vietnam's exemption list. The straightforward route is the e-visa: US$25 single entry, up to 90 days, usually three to seven working days, applied for only at the official portal, https://evisa.gov.vn. Children need their own; the official fee for under-14s is US$25. Your passport must be valid six months beyond arrival, with two blank pages.
Phu Quoc has its own 30-day island-only exemption, but whether it survives a transit through Ho Chi Minh City is described inconsistently by the sources we checked and depends on your exact routing. We are not going to guess on your behalf — the e-visa works whatever your routing.

A pre-arrival declaration is mandatory. Since 1 June 2026 everyone arriving internationally at Phu Quoc must file it before departure, within three days of the flight, at https://prearrival.immigration.gov.vn. Free, about ten minutes, produces a QR code you show at immigration. It is not a visa.
We send the visa and entry note — links, dates, and what to select on the form — before you travel.

Coming on your own.

The registration is for one person, and rooms are priced per room per night rather than per person — so travelling alone costs no more per night, though one person carries the whole room rate. The week is built so nobody has to work at meeting people: one room, a reception on the first night, an hour together each evening, dinner on the sand on Thursday, drinks on Friday.

Bringing family.

Partners and children are welcome at the resort for the whole week. The teaching sessions are for attendees. Keilah has written the household's half of the week.

Tax.

You receive an itemised invoice, the programme and a category-mapped log of the hours. Whether and how much is deductible depends on your circumstances — please ask your accountant.

Who you are talking to

Dr Chris Bonney, FANZCA — founder, anaesthetist, Victoria. "Ask me whether the week is right for you, or about Platinum. Doctor to doctor."

On WhatsApp, or on the phone. Doctor to doctor.

Keilah — co-founder, and the author of the family letter. Questions go to Chris.
